OK, for all you who might need it, here is the schematic of the Kenwood KPG-4 programming adapter. This is an adapter I designed and built by making a few minor changes to someone else's design. The biggest change I made was the use of the Maxim MAX233CPP instead of the MAX232 IC, because the MAX233 chip doesn't need external 'charge-pump' capacitors like the MAX232 does. I also added a bridge rectifier to the power supply input. I like doing that because it makes circuits such as this immune to 'reverse polarity mistakes'.If anyone finds any mistakes I made while making the schematic, let me know, and I'll fix it.
