As mentioned in other comment, Voltabolt's challenge is your way to go for EXP. If you have Chaosweaver, it will do perfectly. To add on to the comment, search up 'escelense' weapons which you can show for a 30% boost, and train up your pet dragon's magic stat to 200, and you should be able to take down the bot in 1 turn.The challenges at the Inn are meant to be difficult, so don't worry if you struggle at first. Level 82 is high enough to tackle them, but you need to do your research (best equipment/classes, boss mechanics, temp items etc) and go in prepared for the harder bosses.

And yes, the challenges are definitely worth it because some of the best items (Unraveler wings, legion bracer etc) are there, free-of-charge.As for DmK, I would say only invest in it if you're quite certain that you'll be playing the game for a long time. It's arguably the strongest class in the game, but you don't necessarily need it for anything; all the challenges can be completed with other classes. I would ask that you play long enough to get to level 90 first, and watch vids on it or try it out for yourself at the Akriloth fight before making a decision.
